Location: Meridian Park

This hip-hop musical is about the meaning of home, written by “Hamilton” author, Lin-Manuel Miranda. We will select three songs to perform which depict the dreams and hopes of each character in a tight Latin community. Let’s add some rapping and some dancing to the fun.

Performance: March 3rd at 3:30pm

Join us for acting games, drama exercises, and a performance of Star Wars, A New Hope and The Force Awakens. Join Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Rey, Finn, and the real forces as they battle the Dark Side and save the galaxy – twice. Concludes with a performance for families and friends, but may be through video if safety conditions do not allow for in-person gatherings.

The Day the Crayons Quit

Working with the book, The Day the Crayons Quit, we’ll explore the fundamentals necessary to create character. Students will be assigned one character and asked to use the text in order to build the character of their crayon and how the text can support their choices. Through scene study and independent work, students will have the tools in order to make strong character choices for the stage.

Social Emotional Learning through Drama

Cost: $245

Dates: January 11th, 2021 – April 5th, 2021

Let’s grow through play and exploration! We will use creative drama, movement, and our own stories to learn how to better understand ourselves — what we are feeling, why, and how to compassionately move through our emotions. Younger age groups can expect to participate in guided activities that include personal reflection and peer sharing, while older groups may have an added layer of the science behind each exercise. All exercises and activities in the class are invitations and can be modified for the personal needs of the student.

This is the action-packed story of young Perseus, son of Zeus, and his mortal mother Danae. Perseus grows up valiantly saving his mother from being eaten by a sea monster, with time left over to kill the snake-headed Medusa. This kind of drama will keep students on their mythological toes!

Frozen is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Snow Queen”. Frozen tells the story of a fearless princess who sets out to find her estranged sister under very difficult circumstances. The song “Let it Go” remains a favorite. Your kids will have a great time singing, dancing, and finding new ways to tell this incredible story.
